1. Seeking Taste of the Arts (TOTA) Performers

The Community Outreach Department is looking for performers for Taste of the Arts (TOTA). TOTA is an annual event where community members attend (free of charge) a series of performances and learn more about various arts, in other words, we try to give them a "taste of the arts." This year TOTA will be held on Sunday, October 21 from 1-4pm.

Interested? Know someone who else who might be? It's a great way to increase the visibility of your art to the community!
DEADLINE: September 26
CONTACT: Melisa at kitcharn@uiuc.edu, Carolyn at cdbrown2@uiuc.edu, or Carla at minefee@uiuc.edu

2. Community Outreach (FREE FOOD!) Committee Meeting

CO Committee Meeting
First meeting of the year - come find out why we're the coolest KCSA department!

WHEN: Thursday, September 20 from 4-5pm
WHERE: KCSA Office (room 2-402 Krannert Center, feel free to ask for directions)

WHAT: Discuss and plan Taste of the Arts
WHO: Open to EVERYONE, all members new and old! Not just CO Committee

Interested in the free food? Then RSVP by Wed, Sep. 19 to Melisa at kitcharn@uiuc.edu, Carolyn at cdbrown2@uiuc.edu, or Carla at minefee@uiuc.edu. If you don't RSVP you may still come (of course!) but there might not be enough food.

3. Wow-Me Tour is Back!

Have you ever wished that you could stand on the ceiling of a theater? Are you dying to see the room that holds all of the costume shop's hats? Do you often sit up, late at night, wondering what's underneath the Festival Theater stage? If so, then have I got something for you! This Saturday, September 22, Cornie, our advisor, is giving his world famous "Wow Me" tour. He will take us to all of those cool hidden spots to help answer everyone's burning questions about Krannert. The tour starts at 1:30pm in the lobby and could last a while, so come on down!
*Note* - You will want to wear comfortable shoes and clothes that can get a little dusty because we might be visiting some odd places. :)
WHEN: Sep. 22 from 1:30pm until Cornie gets tired
WHERE: Meet in the lobby
WHY: Because Krannert is the most interesting building you'll find in central Illinois

4. Ushering Announces the new "A" and "Z" Awards (What on Earth?)

The Ushering Department would like to announce the "A" as the Usher of the Month and the "Z" as the Supervisor of the Month.

Every month! Someone is going to get some really cool prizes - want to know if it could be you? Stay posted for more information, or visit the KCSA web page at http://www.kcsa.uiuc.edu.

5. Open Mic Night

Open Mic Night is an event that only occurs on the third Wednesday of each month. It's a chance for budding performers and artists to show off their talent in a totally casual (and FREE!) atmosphere. This is the first this semester, so come check it out....
WHEN: Wed. Sept 19 from 8pm-on
WHERE: Courtyard Cafe in the Illini Union
COST: Nothing, it's free, remember?
CONTACT: Glen at veed@uiuc.edu for more information or to see how you can help out

Long Awaited Canoe Trip

The KCSA Annual Canoe Trip is coming soon! This is a wonderfully fun time where you can meet a bunch of other cool KCSA people like you. Don't know how to canoe? Never been in a boat? Don't know how to swim? Don't worry - it'll still be fun. Life vests included. Bring a dry change of clothes, regardless.

We also need drivers to help carpool everyone there.

WHEN: Sat. Sept 29, leave from Krannert no later than 9 am, we'll be back by 4 pm
WHERE: We will meet at Krannert, then drive to Turkey Run State Park in Indiana (they actually have water there), less than an hour drive away. COST: $8 a person (but for the fun you'll get out of it, it's as good as free) CONTACT: Glen at veed@uiuc.edu to sign up or just for more information
