Hello KCSA~!

Welcome new and old KCSA members to our first official KCSA Notes of the 2005-2006 school year! For our new members, Notes is a weekly e-mail informing you of all the crazy, fun KCSA events coming up. Remember, you can do as much or as little with KCSA as you would like (the latter recommended =) ).

KCSA Activities Dept is organizing a canoe trip at Turkey Run State Park for Saturday, Oct. 8. It will cost ONLY $7.50 per person. The plan is to leave C-U around 11am and go until everyone's had their fill of conoeing fun! If you are interested, please contact Amanda at agoddard@uiuc.edu. Thanks!

If you've ever wanted to help put on a play, come out and meet KCSA's brand-new Tech Department. This is our frist meeting of the year, so come by, meet some people, and find out if tech is the thing for you. We're looking for everyone with an interest, from seasoned veterans to timid hopeful; no experience is necessary. Really. So, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 at 8:00 p.m. in Krannert's Intermezzo cafe (at the South end of the lobby). Bring a friend and a juice box.

The Tech Team

Help design this year's KCSA T-shirt! The Marketing Department is hosting a T-shirt design contest for KCSA. Anyone is welcome to enter their design by Oct. 1. Files in .psd, .ai, .innd, .doc, .pdf can be submitted to kcsa-marketing@kcpa.uiuc.edu. Hand drawn submissions are welcomed as well. Please turn them in at the KCSA office. A PRIZE will be awarded to the winning entry!

See your work performed live at the Krannert Center!! KCSA is currently looking for a script to be performed in this year's Murder Mystery Dinner. Scripts will be due on Wed. Sept. 28 by 5pm. Our title is "Lunch Break at the Casualty Cafe" and by cafe, we really mean cafeteria. Therefore, you will need to create a script that takes place in a cafeteria. What kind? Choose for yourself! It can be at a high school, hospital, business office, anywhere you want that has a cafeteria! The first act should be 40min to an hour in length. The second act will mostly be a chance for cast improvisation as the audience interrogates them. Questions and script submissions (in digital format) can be sent to kcsa-otr@kcpa.uiuc.edu.

*What the best part?? You get a $50 prize if your script is chosen for our production!!!

Are you interested in becoming part of our Murder Mystery Dinner Production Team? The Team includes Director, Assistant Director, and Tech Director positions. Applications are available online on our website (www.kcsa.uiuc.edu) and will be due by Thurs. Sept. 22 by 5pm. More details available on the actual application =).

We still need ushers to help with the President B. Joseph White Inauguration Ceremony. It is on Sept. 22 in Foellinger Great Hall. The call time is 12:30pm and everything should be over by 4pm. For volunteering at such an odd time (when many of you have classes), we won't let you go empty handed. With will have a "thank you for helping KCPA and the University" parting gift for those that help. Just a small token of our appreciation.
